The letter at 24 from the Chairman of the Emergency Committee calls I think for acknowledgement and an expression of appreciation. Providing there is no legal objection there seems no reason why the Committee should not continue to exercise its powers if required pending the re-establishment of the Senate of the University although it will no longer be required to exercise the powers of the Chancellor (the Governor). Perhaps Mr. Hastings would confirm that this is in order and for this purpose I pass the draft opposite through him.

A copy of 24 might also be sent with

compliments to Mr. Sloss, the Vice-Chancellor or the University, and Mr. Hezeltine the Registrar of the General Medical Council reference our letter at 3 and previous correspondence.
